Me: “Hey Elanor, I’m just updating that old blog about your ear piercing disaster. We re-did the piercing last year - how is it? Did it heal ok this time? Can you send me a picture if you get a mo?”
Elanor: “ Hiya! It’s ok, the piercing still has issues sometimes where it gets crusty and can bleed and be in pain, but I used to have the exact same with others pierced with a gun and then taken out and re-done. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just caused damage that will take a lot of time to heal. It’s also quite a lot thicker than the others, it can’t stand a ring and it still needs a longer bar than the other side”
Still in there!
I didn’t see Elanor for a year so assumed no news was good news…
So our absolute final conclusion is that gun piercing is indeed the terrible and poor practice proper piercers always say it is. The aftercare advice sold by gun companies is just as damaging and you’re best off avoiding it at all costs. The damage it causes can last for years.
Needle piercings are better, cleaner, safer, less painful and best of all…very boring.
